Auf diese Weise schuf ich zu ausgewählten Stücken der oben genannten Komponistinnen einen Malerei-Zyklus, in dem verschiedene Gefühlszustände und Erlebnisbereiche systematisch variiert wurden. Es wurde ein Bogen gespannt von „Fest oder la Joie de Vivre“ bis „Requiem“. Die Bilder dieses Projekts entstanden, indem ich in selbstinduzierter Trance und mit Synästhesie hervorrufenden Suggestionen jeweils ein Musikstück anhörte und danach im Wachzustand die gesehenen Innenbilder in Malerei umsetzte, ohne die Musik erneut zu hören. In einer anschließenden Bearbeitung verfasste die Dichterin Alma Larsen Texte zu diesen Bildern. Bei der Installation in der GALERIE DER KÜNSTLER wurde das Publikum zunächst in einer „Klangschleuse“ in einen tranceähnlichen Zustand versetzt, wobei es gezielte Suggestionen zur Wahrnehmung von Synästhesien (Farbenhören) erhielt. Dabei wurde der Raum mit den jeweils suggerierten Farben bestrahlt. Anschließend wurden die Besucher zu den einzelnen Bildern geführt, wo sie die jeweilige Originalmusik sowie die Gedichte hörten. Danach konnten die persönlichen Erfahrungen schriftlich festgehalten werden. Die vielfältigen positiven Rückmeldungen und Erfahrungen veranlassten mich, später eigene Klangsynästhesien zu meinen bildnerischen Werken zu erzeugen und als Toncollagen zu bearbeiten. About the project: I had developped a technique to generate artificial synesthesias of images and sounds (in contrast to painting in an associative way with music). In this technique I created a painting cycle to selected pieces of the composers listed above. In it, various levels of emotions, and a wide range of experiences are varied systematically. The result featured works so divergent from „Celebration oder la Joie de Vivre“ to „Requiem“. While putting myself into a self-induced trance and through synesthesia inducing suggestions, I listened to each piece of music. Afterwards – back to alertness – I transformed the images which I had seen to paintings (but did not listen to the music again). Finally, the poet Alma Larsen wrote her lyrics to my work. During the show of „KlangNetze“ in the GALERIE DER KÜNSTLER, the visitors had first to pass a kind of „Soundchannel“ where they were put into a trancelike state. Specific suggestions were used in order to create synesthesias (the sound of colours). The space was also emersed in differently coloured light. Then the visitors moved on to the paintings where they listened to the composers’ music as well as Alma Larsen’s poems. Before exiting, they had the chance to write down their personal experience during the show. The many positive reactions and experiences of the visitors later prompted me to create soundsynesthesias to my paintings, and edit tonal collages.
